As a user, I want the unlocking and locking process to be as fast as using a traditional fob, so that if it's raining and I'm carrying groceries with kids in tow, I'm not stuck for several minutes fiddling with my phone.
FR 048 Lock/Unlock Experience >P2< >Vehicle Access<
Hourfleet is now beginning to roll out our next generation of hardware that supports unlocking and locking at far greater speeds, among other improvements.
We call this Tap Tap Go and you can watch a video of it in use here: https://youtu.be/boopaYYKiSo
Thanks Jezz, from what people are reporting, part of the issue is accessing the app - waiting for it to open and connect. They say they're having to wait over a minute to lock and unlock.
This issue will be directly addressed in next generation of carkit
At present, we have imposed upon us certain constraints with the current generation of device in the car that uses TXT messaging for Lock/Unlock.
With the next generation of device these constraints are alleviated, and we can get much closer to near immediate response times.
For now though, the largest delay in the process (measured at somewhere between ~10-20secs) is the delay that the SMS provider arbitrarily imposes on delivering the instruction to the device, since instructions are received by the SMS provider sub-second of being sent by Hourfleet.
